Foundations Summary

Now that we’ve covered the basic concepts behind private keys, we are almost ready to move on to the building blocks of your security plan.  But first, let’s quickly review the major ideas we form the foundation of our planning.

  1. Private keys are what allows us to control our crypto assets
  2. The private keys can be held as a unique combination of seed phrase and pass phrase.
  3. A hardware wallet allows us to use the private keys safely.
  4. The separation principle states that we should always use a passphrase, and always store the seed and pass phrases separately.
  5. Finally, we need to make sure that our plan is robust by using failure point analysis to check for weak spots in our security.

Now let's take these concepts and apply them to an actual security plan.
